That's just incredible! How is it that there hasn't been more publicity around this? Scorcese really did capture the feel of a Hitchcock film from the 60s!
Reminds me of "George Lucas In Love" for some reason, except for the fact that it's just an ad for wine. I guess Scorsese's seen how well "celebrity" brands (e.g. Coppola's) are doing.
Speaking of product placement, how unsubtle was this week's Las Vegas? For those who missed it, at one point the main character (Danny) walks past a guy who's proposing to a girl; the guy pulls out a ring and we zoom in so a particular company's logo is clearly visible inside the box; the girl says yes and Danny immediately gives them a free upgrade to a suite for the rest of their stay; and we go to commercial... where, to no one's surprise, we learn that the show is sponsored by the company.
I guess it's better than having Fred and Barney avoiding their wives to go smoke cigarettes, but just barely.
i totally didn't pick up on the fact that it's a wine ad! i hope scorsese isn't really just selling out like that, because i still think it's quite the accomplishment
The purpose of this blog is to provide perspectives on movies, television shows, and other pop culture occurrences. The contributors have a wide variety of preferences and opinions, and these will not be censored or adjusted to fit a certain mold. You may not agree with what we have to say (we certainly don't agree with each other most of the time), but hopefully you will find it interesting, enlightening, or helpful in some way.

I'm not sure how effective it is as an advertisement, considering neither Tammy nor I picked up on that fact!
Goes to show what I always say: commercials only really make you buy stuff that you were going to buy anyway!
